On the occasion of International Yoga Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led a landmark celebration in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The event featured a 26-kilometre-long “Yoga Corridor” stretching from RK Beach to Bhogapuram, drawing a massive turnout—over 3 lakh participants gathered on the beach, while nearly 5 lakh joined across the entire stretch.

To ensure the Prime Minister’s safety and the smooth conduct of the event, a robust security setup was deployed, including over 10,000 personnel, NSG commandos, 1,200 CCTV cameras, and surveillance drones monitoring the entire 26 km corridor.

Addressing the gathering, PM Modi stated, “Yoga is the pause button that humanity needs,” highlighting its relevance in today’s uncertain world amid global conflicts. He praised the ‘Yogandhra’ campaign led by Nara Lokesh, which trained over 20 million people, and termed the celebration a step toward "Yoga for Humanity 2.0."

In the wake of this successful event, the Andhra Pradesh government announced plans to introduce yoga into the school curriculum starting from Class 9 and to establish a deemed university for yoga studies, aiming to institutionalize wellness and holistic living.
