It has come to light that in Maharashtra's Sindhudurg district, a freshly inaugurated statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has been brought down. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj holds a great deal of respect among the people in Maharashtra, hence the incident cannot be taken lightly. It was however interesting to hear Chief Minister Eknath Shinde explaining that such a design was a structural failure, it was over the wind since the statue was erect outside without any surrounding enclosure.

Regarding the incident, Shinde stated, "Shivaji Maharaj is our God and we feel for him. The statue got blown away- this is how I see it, in a sense, it is sad.” At present, our Minister is examining the site, “where this is unfortunate,” as he put it.
